Statement of Purpose for Athletics at PVCP
Paradise Valley Christian Preparatory believes that a dynamic program of student activities is vital to the educational and spiritual development of the student.
The PVCP athletic program provides a variety of experiences to aid in the development of Christian habits and attitudes in students that will prepare them for adult life.
Athletics function as an integral part of the total curriculum. It offers opportunities to serve the institution, to assist in the development of fellowship and good will, to promote sportsmanship and Christian character, and encourages learning the qualities of good citizenship.
The athletic program follows the objectives of the school. PVCP athletics are considered a supplement to the school's program of education that strives to provide experiences that will help develop men and women spiritually, physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. The program should constantly strive for the true discipleship of young Christian men and women.
The goals of the athletic program are to: 1) realize the value of participation, 2) develop and improve Christian citizenship traits amoung the program's participants, 3) strive to win fairly and with true Christian integrity, 4) lose with grace and humility, and 5) build school-wide spirit.
